The Royal Melbourne Show is held at the Royal Showgrounds in Flemington every September. Organised with the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria, the show is a huge agricultural fair exhibiting animals, activities, ring events and competitions, sideshow alley, rides and sample bags, with many food displays.
The show brings the country to the city of Melbourne, providing locals with education, activities and interaction with the life of rural Australia. Competitions held include food judging, livestock, showjumping and wood chopping, among many other displays. Walk through the animal nursery or livestock pavilions. See traditional and contemporary farm machinery to arts and crafts.
The Royal Melbourne Show is a festival for both locals and tourists to enjoy, to experience Victoria, its many facets, unique style and country life. Hop on a thrill ride or ride the dodgem cars. This fair has plenty of food and activities to keep young and old amused.
Cars, fashion shows, sheep shearing and food sampling are just some of the exhibits held here. Awards are also presented for the best livestock amongst cattle, horses, pigs, equestrian or rodeo. Wander through many pavilions with cultural and agricultural exhibits, dogs, cats and many other animal displays.
The evening program includes a fireworks' extravaganza, action displays and musical events. The Royal Melbourne Show is a must for anyone travelling to Melbourne in spring.
